Fees and Charges

Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi Indonesia (JPEI) is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription or access fees.

Fees

Effective from Vol. 9 No. 1 (May 2027) onwards, the following fees apply to all articles published in JPEI:

APC with at least one co-author from outside Indonesia IDR 750,000
APC for JPEI reviewers Free (see conditions below)

The APC is charged only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review. Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions, which are based solely on scholarly merit.

What the APC Covers

The APC covers copyediting, layout, DOI registration through Crossref, similarity checking, online hosting, indexing, and long-term digital preservation.

APC Waiver for JPEI Reviewers

To thank our reviewers for their contribution, JPEI offers a 100% APC waiver (free publication) to reviewers under the following conditions:

  • Each completed review entitles the reviewer to one APC waiver.
  • The review must have been completed on time and judged satisfactory by the handling editor.
  • The waiver is valid for 24 months from the date the review was completed.
  • The reviewer must be the corresponding author of the manuscript for which the waiver is used.
  • The waiver is not transferable to other authors and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Using a waiver has no influence on the peer review or the editorial decision of the reviewer's own manuscript.

Reduced APC for International Collaboration

Manuscripts with at least one co-author from an institution outside Indonesia are charged a reduced APC of IDR 750,000, under the following conditions:

  • The international co-author's primary affiliation must be an institution outside Indonesia, verified by an institutional email address or ORCID iD.
  • Every author must have made a substantial contribution to the work, described in a Contributor Statement in the manuscript. Adding authors solely to obtain a reduced APC is considered authorship misconduct and will lead to rejection or retraction.

How to Request a Waiver or Reduced APC

  • Requests must be made in the "Comments for the Editor" field at the time of submission and are verified by the editorial office before the invoice is issued.
  • Waivers and reductions cannot be combined; only the most favourable one applies.

Financial Hardship

Authors who are unable to pay the APC may request a full or partial waiver at the time of submission, with a brief justification. Such requests are handled by the administrative staff, separately from the editorial process, and do not affect the review outcome.

Payment

After acceptance, the corresponding author will receive an invoice with payment instructions. The article will be scheduled for publication once payment has been confirmed.

Refunds

The APC is non-refundable once the article has been published. If a manuscript is withdrawn by the authors after payment but before publication, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis.
