Analysis of the Digital Divide and Its Implications for Inclusive Economic Development in Indonesia in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

Digital inequality in Indonesia has become a crucial challenge in achieving inclusive economic development in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This study aims to analyze the digital divide in Indonesia and its implications for inclusive economic development within the context of AI advancement. The research employs a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings indicate that disparities in technological access between urban and rural areas remain significant, not only in terms of infrastructure but also in digital literacy and the capacity to utilize technology effectively. The development of AI further complicates this situation, as groups that are able to adopt AI more rapidly gain greater economic benefits, while those left behind become increasingly marginalized from digital economic opportunities. The study concludes that achieving inclusive economic development in the AI era requires comprehensive strategies, including the equitable distribution of digital infrastructure, the enhancement of digital and AI literacy, the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and multi-stakeholder collaboration to create an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem.
